YOUR CONNECTIONS COULD CHANGE THE WORLD

As social media becomes more and more crammed with advertising, PSA’s and comments, word of mouth has become the most powerful and effective tool for connecting safe, supportive people with life-changing opportunities, like youth mentorship.

Our Community Engagement Manager, Laura Basch, leveraged her connections using word of mouth without even realizing it. Through a simple Instagram Story post sharing about her passion for supporting children, #DefendingPotential of youth through mentorship linked to statistics about improved mental health in students, a greater sense of connection to their community and the prevention of school emergencies. Through a simple Instagram Story, Laura was able to successfully share her passion for youth mentorship to 4 of her friends, who enrolled as Bigs because of this simple call to action.

• “Did y’all know I’m a mentor with @bbbs_nwa? This is my Little, (insert name here)! Being a Big is an easy, free and fun way to make a HUGE impact for kids in Northwest Arkansas, and there are over 50 kids waiting on mentors! Join me at BBBSNWA.org. “

• “In light of recent events, I decided to become a youth mentor through @bbbs_nwa, because youth in Northwest Arkansas need safe, supportive people to come alongside them as they grow. Become a mentor with me at BBBSNWA.org”

• Meet my Little, ___, who I mentor through the BBBS program. I have a great time hanging out with her, and I think you all would be good mentors!”
