BE A MENTOR

Kids with a Big Brother or Big Sister are beating the odds!

What is it like to be a Big?

You have the opportunity to help shape a child’s future for the better by empowering them to achieve.  And the best part is, it’s actually a lot of fun.  You and your Little can share the kinds of activities you already like to do.

Community Based Program

Community-Based Mentoring Program, Bigs and Littles are paired based on geographic proximity and shared interests. Community-Based matches are encouraged to spend four hours per month (2 hours, twice a month) doing low-cost or free activities that help promote the kind of trusted relationship that helps a young person build self-confidence, think about their future, and, of course, have fun! Many of our Big and Little pairs enjoy playing basketball, walking trails around NWA, or working on crafts together.  It is our goal to match based on interests and hobbies of both the Big and the Little.

Site Based Program

Site- Based Mentoring program, Bigs and Littles are paired in a school setting.  Most often the Big will meet their little for lunch or for an activity at the Boys and Girls Club. Bigs and Littles typically meet once a week to read together, play sports or computer games, or simply talk about life and personal issues – just as friends do.
